Dominic is Professor of Climate Change and Society at the University of Sussex. He uses a variety of methods in his research including numerical modelling and qualitative techniques such as Q methodology and serious games. He has been Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on grants totalling over £10 million.
Through his research he has been asked for advice from the United Nations, the World Bank, the EU, the UK government and the International Organisation of Migration. His work in migration and climate change was recognised with the Royal Geographical Society's Cuthbert Peek award.
Dominic is currently working with Save the Children as part of a NERC Knowledge Exchange fellowship on children’s health in sub-Saharan Africa. He is also involved in IDRC/FCDO and NIHR funded projects in the Horn of Africa looking at Anticipatory Actions in pastoralist areas and improving health system services for people living with HIV and/or TB during extreme weather events in southern Africa.
Dominic is a panel member of the Lancet Countdown and UNEP’s International Resource Panel.
