Professor Collins Iwuji is Professor of Global Health and HIV Medicine at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, University of Sussex, and an Honorary Consultant Physician at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, UK. He is a faculty member in Population Science and the Nodal Director of the Health and Demographic Surveillance System at the Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI), South Africa. Based at AHRI, his interdisciplinary research spans population science, clinical medicine, and climate change and health.
His work includes evaluating interventions to strengthen health system resilience to extreme weather events, climate change and HIV, and climate change and mental health. Collins is a member of the Wellcome Trust Population and Public Health Advisory Group, the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Embedding Ethics in Health and Climate Change, and the interim Steering Committee of the African Population Cohorts Consortium.
