Dominic is a Professor of Climate Change and Society at the University of Sussex. His research employs a variety of methods, including numerical modelling and qualitative techniques such as Q methodology and serious games. He has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on grants totalling over £10 million. His expertise has been sought by the United Nations, the World Bank, the EU, the UK government and the International Organisation of Migration. Dominic's work on migration and climate change earned him the Royal Geographical Society's Cuthbert Peek award.
Currently, he collaborates with Save the Children on a NERC Knowledge Exchange fellowship focused on children's health in sub-Saharan Africa. He is also involved in IDRC/FCDO and NIHR funded projects in the Horn of Africa, addressing anticipatory actions in pastoralist areas and improving health system services for people living with HIV and/or TB during extreme weather events in southern Africa. Dominic is a panel member of the Lancet Countdown and UNEP’s International Resource Panel.
